November UMW News

We have sent 100 bags to DenUm, 1 large box to House of Hope, and 1 large box to Project Cure.

  • 4 books each year
  • 1 from each category
  • Selections from the reading list (this years and previous years)
  • Regular reading of Response

  • 10 books each year
  • At least 2 from each category
  • Selections from the reading list
  • Regular reading of Response and New World Outlook

Plan II

  • 15 books each year
  • 8 books with at least 2 from each cateogry
  • 7 additional books from any category
  • Selections from the reading lists
  • Regular reading of Response and New World Outlook

Plan IV

  • 20 books each year
  • 8 books with at least two from each category
  • 12 additional books from any category
  • Selections from the reading lists
  • Regular reading of Response and New World Outlook.

Assembly 2010 - in St. Louis

The UMW assemble every four years to celebrate, to lift up, to learn, and to return to their communities better equipeed for mission. Assembly 2010 will be held April 30th - May 2nd in St. Louis, MO.

Mrs. Claus Closet

Mrs. Claus Closet will be held again on Sunday, Nov. 29th during the Church's big Advent festival. This is one of our big fund-raisers for the year.
Volunteers are needed for setup, running the store, and take-down. Volunteers are needed 2 hour time slots are available from noon to 7pm on Sunday. Contact Diane Bentheimer dlbentheimer@hotmail.com if you can help.

New Knitting and Crocheting Circle - Launched

The new Knitting and Crocheting Circle was launched on Sunday, Nov. 8. All women who knit, crochet, or want to learn are invited to join.

This group meets Fridays 10-noon and 3rd Sun at 12 to 1:00 in Room 241. We’re making premie caps, helmet liners for the troops, and prayer shawls.

Bakers Needed - Pumpkins Desserts!

Bakers are needed to bake pumpkin desserts for sale on Sunday, November 22nd during the church services. This is one of our big fund-raisers for the year. We expect to sell as many pumpkin desserts as we can bake.

Please sign up to bake several pumpkin desserts -- they are very easy to bake.

Covered Baking pans ( approx 8 /12 X 11 ) are available at King Soopers.

  • Safeway has Betty Crocker yellow cake mix for 89 cents
  • Albertson's had Libby's Pumpkin Pie Mixes available at a reduced price.

Pumpkin Desserts are Coming!

Just in time for Tanksgiving or a Holiday Party and you don't have to bake! United Methodist Women will sell our FAMOUS Pumpkin Desserts at all services Sunday, November 22!.
For those who have had these before, you know that they sell out quickly because we have amazing bakers in our church family. Last year we raised nearly $1000 for Mission Outreach with thse desserts! These huge desserts are only $9 each! Buy one for yourself and one to donate to Street Reach! You'll be the hit when you serve this to everyone on Thanksgiving!
